Introduction

Hi, I'm Jen!

I live in Aurora, Colorado and am married to a wonderful man named Don. Together we have an amazing little boy named Connor.

I am originally from the midwest, but my stepfathers job moved us to Colorado when I was 15 years old. I love it here and don't know that I could ever live anywhere else. I had worked in the collection industry for almost 10 years (2 companies) before the birth of my son. I would definitely not say it was a thankful job, but it paid the bills and I was pretty good at it. I moved my way up from receptionist to legal asistant pretty quickly. I loved everyone I worked with, especially my immediate manager and a couple of my co-workers. To this day we are still close friends. They each inspire me in different ways and mean more to me than they'll ever know. Together we dealt with the most horrific owner I have ever met, which in the end made my decision to stay home with my son very easy.

My son, Connor, was born at 25 weeks gestation because I developed Preclampsia/HELLP Syndrome (a life threatening pregnancy complication that almost killed both of us). He was 1lb 12oz and 12 3/4 inches long at birth. He spent 97 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) before finally coming home 1 day before his actual due date. Those 97 days were definitely the most stressful days of my life, as Connor had surgeries and blood transfusions, among other issues. In the end, we were one of the lucky ones to be able to bring our boy home. (Many parents in our situation aren't so lucky). Due to his prematurity,  Connor has struggled with some developmental delays, but with the help of many therapists we are finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He is an incredibly happy little boy and I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world!

My husband, Don, is one of the most hard working men I have ever met. He not only works his full time job, but does sidework as a handyman. (I mean, this man can literally fix and build just about anything! ) He does all this not only because he enjoys it, but to earn the extra income so that I am able to stay home with our son. I don't think I'll ever be able to show him how appreciated he is and how much it means to me.

I have recently joined a nailpolish and nailart community on Instagram and have become inspired by these women (and a few men). I've always had a love for manicures and things related to nails and nailart, but never really took it too seriously. The majority of my posts will likely be related to my renewed love for this,  though from time to time, I may throw in a few random thoughts or vents about my own life or other interests.

I hope you all enjoy and feel inspired! ♡
