The Rhinestone Housewife - Jet City Burlesque Collection by Joy Lacquer

**press sample**
Hey guys! Today I have a new collection from The Rhinestone Housewife to share with you. The Jet City Burlesque Collection is in collaboration with Joy Lacquer. It's a ten piece Valentine's Day release filled with cremes, holo, glitter and sparkles! Let's take a look

Message from The Rhinestone Housewife:
"This collection was inspired by the Seattle burlesque scene that I was part of way back in the day. The burly-Q revival was fabulous and vibrant and I will always have fun remembering how we used to race from one gig to another on a Saturday night."

Boylesque is a soft olive/khaki green creme with a light green shimmer running throughout. Here I did two coats plus topcoat. This had a smooth, shiny finish and was easy to remove.

Considered part of the Neo-Burlesque revival, boylesque is the term used to describe male performers in burlesque. While boylesque was not invented in Seattle, Seattle enjoys a vast variety of talented performers.

Burly-Q teal/green jelly base filled with various sized opalescent glitter in shades of blues and lime greens, as well as green/blue and turquoise holographic microglitter and subtle pink/purple flecks. Here I did three thin coats plus topcoat. Depending on application and nail length, you may get away with just two. This dried fairly shiny, but slightly textured and needed a little extra scrubbing to remove.

Burly-Q is a nickname many performers use for burlesque.

Glitter Lips is a bright red jelly base filled with various shades of microglitter in scarlet, maroon, crimson and vermilion red, as well as a sprinkling of scattered holo. Here I did two coats plus topcoat. This dried fairly shiny and ever so slightly textured. It also needed a little extra rubbing to remove.

Glitter Lips: Red. Sparkly. Glamorous. A prerequisite of stage, the sexy look of red glitter lips is one of the most recognized elements of burlesque.

Hottie McNaughty is a tangerine orange crelly base filled with various sized orange and purple iridescent glitters, as well as blue, orange and gold shimmers throughout. Here I did two coats plus topcoat. It dried semi glossy, slightly textured and was fairly easy to remove.

Hottie McNaughty: A local Seattle performer, Hottie has been described as the love child of Bugs Bunny and Carol Burnett. Hottie was known for using humor and 'giving good face' in her performances and performing to odd and unique music. One of her signature stage colors is orange

Lost a Pastie is a nude jelly base filled with holo gold and silver glitters, as well as orange, pink, teal and purple opalescent glitters and s subtle blue flash. Here I did three thin coats plus topcoat. Depending on application, you may only need two coats or you can layer one coat over a nude base. It dried a little dull on its own and needed a little more scrubbing to remove.

Lost a Pastie! Equal parts titillating and horror inducing, losing a pastie happens. You never know when or where but it strikes terror in the hearts of club owners in the Seattle area due to liquor laws.

Neo-Burlesque is an ultra violet purple base, chosen for this year's Pantone Color of the Year, filled with  gold/copper chrome micro-flecks, ultra-fine linear holo and electric blue flecks. Here I did two coats plus topcoat. It dried a little dull on its own and was easy to remove.

Neo-Burlesque is the revival of burlesque performance. Though based on the traditional Burlesque art, the new form encompasses a wider range of performance and neo-burlesque acts can range from classic striptease to modern dance to comedic and witty parody.

Pink door is a soft pink creme. Here I did two coats plus topcoat. It applied smooth, dried shiny and was easy to remove.

Pink Door: Whether triple, colored or hidden, burlesque performances happen behind many different doors in the Seattle area

Show At Midnight deep navy with scattered holographic glitter and a subtle lapis blue sparkle. Here I did two coats plus topcoat, though depending on application you may get away with just one. It dried a teeny bit dull and lightly textured, but was easy to remove.

Burlesque being a slightly subversive form of entertainment, frequently shows were speak easy style and later in the evening

Stage Kitten is a warm taupe, almost leaning mauve creme. Here I did two coats plus topcoat. Depending on application you may only need one coat. It applied smooth, dried shiny and was easy to remove.

Stage Kitten is the term used for the stage assistants that are responsible for gathering the performers garments after they strip out of them. The true unsung heroes of burlesque!

The Rhinestone Housewife is a bright raspberry pink crelly filled with silver flecks and holo microglitters in various shades of pink. Here I did two coats plus topcoat. It dried a tad dull, a little textured and needed extra scrubbing to remove.

The Rhinestone Housewife: A tagline given to Hottie McNaughty, it embodies everything that Hottie stood for. A sparkly house with a quirky gem-of-a-hostess.

Hottie McNaughty and Show at Midnight are definitely my favorites of the bunch!

The Jet City Burlesque Collection will be available February 14th exclusively in The Rhinestone Housewife's shop! Available will be the 10-piece 8ml mini set for $72 USD, the full size 13ml set for $110 USD, as well as full sized singles.

In addition to the polish set, she also sent me a Dark Chocolate Peppermint soap from Three Sisters Apothecary that is also available in The Rhinestone Housewife's shop. OMG! It smells amazing! My dog, Chester, would not get away from me; I think it was the subtle scent of chocolate. I finally gave him the box so his could sniff til his little heart was content. I used it in the shower and the peppermint instantly made my sinuses feel clearer and made me feel a lot more awake than normal. Not only did it leave my skin soft, but it is also just really pretty to look at! LOL
