The Polish Pickup is a Facebook group where makers create a polish/product based on a certain theme and all of the polishes are sold in the Polish Pickup store the beginning of the month. (the first Friday thru the following Monday). You can order as much or as little as you like and even place multiple orders, while still only paying $3 Flat Rate Shipping!
For November the chosen theme is Bad Ass Women! Let's take a look at what they've created!
Jill chose Marie Laveau as her inspiration this month. Marie Laveau was a Louisiana Creole practitioner of Voodoo, who was renowned in New Orleans
Gris-gris, also spelled grigri, and sometimes also "gregory" or "gerregery", is a Voodoo amulet originating in Africa which is believed to protect the wearer from evil or brings luck, and in some West African countries is used as a method of birth control.
Gris Gris is a cherry red jelly base filled with crystal shifting flakies and OG Unicorn Pee! Here I did three thin coats plus glossy topcoat for the first three photos and matte topcoat for the last two. This builds up really nicely and was almost opaque for me in those three thin coats. Someone with a less noticeable visible nail line could likely get away with just two coats; then again, it is a jelly and their nature is to be a bit sheer so that all the lovely ingredients can shine through!
It applied really smoothly and shiny on its own. Removal was also easy peasy!
